I programmed my BCD996T about six times before I got everything right. Then you can start to enter your own data, build systems, and so on. Take the time to study how everything is constructed. All of the systems, groups, channels, talk groups and other data will be displayed. Save all of the data to your computer including the systems and make a profile. Use this to read all of the data out of the scanner. Then go back to the menu, select SCANNER and then Download from Scanner. It's probably Comm 1, but depending on the computer it might not be. Use Auto Detect to find out which Comm Port you are connecting through.

On the menu select SCANNER and then Communication Setup. If you haven't already, connect your scanner to the computer using the supplied cable. I don't know how Scanner Master organized your files, but I'd guess that it's along the lines of each county being a different system. The first thing to do is read the manual, it will help quite a bit. It's not that difficult, although at first it appears overwhelming. Thanks for the time and consideration of this poor struggling soul. I'd be willing to compensate you for your time - hourly charge to teach me, buy you a tank of gas, dinner, whatever, etc.

Is there anyone in the ABQ area or in general that help me / show me how this scanner & software works? I've coped and pasted into "new trunking system" but it won't download to the scanner.Īs I said, I'm not the most computer literate and I know I'm just not "getting it". Now that you've quit laughing.Ĭlearly it is me and not the scanner which seems to be a really great unit. I want to load ABQ airport Approach / Tower / Depature freqs and ABQ ATC freqs and I can't even seem to manage that! I just can't seem to copy freqs I want to the software and get it to download to the scanner. I REALIZE THAT I AM A DUNCE! Sites, groups, etc.
#ARC XT FOR UNIDEN XTP2 SERIES.MSI MANUAL#
I have read and read AND READ the manual on the software and I just don't get it. In my previous world scanning was crystals and / or hand punched in freqs on anaolg units. I do know that APD/AFD does a lot of EDACS analog dispatching and I know it is there because my Pro-2096 picks up those dispatches from AFD Dsipatch, and the APD area substations when it works. I understand EDACS & ProVoice and know I won't get that. Scanner Master is out of state and they did not load the EDACS analog that my old Pro-2096 (which is failing - which is why I did this) is still picking up. They loaded Bernalillo County (Albuquerque) and I know the scanner works but I cannot manipulate the software to load additonal freq trunking.
#ARC XT FOR UNIDEN XTP2 SERIES.MSI HOW TO#
I am not the most computer literate guy and need help understanding the ARC XT software & how to load the scanner. Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance, Socorro, Dona Ana etc. I even paid them to program some of my most traveled counties. It is the laster version of ARC XT and I got it last week in a CD from Scanner when the scanner came in.

I live in Albuquerque, NM and decided to make the investment by buying a BCD396XT and the ARC XT software from Scanner. I am former law enforcement (25 years ago) and need help with programmer software and downloading for scanning.
